My Dad passed away (secondary) due to prostate cancer. He was under the operating table in Chinese General Hospital, having his prostates removed, when he suddenly had a massive heart attack that led to his untimely demise at barely 60 years of age. His sister died from the big C as well a couple of years after. Then my maternal grandma developed cancer of the lungs which took her from us at a ripe old age of 90.
3 deaths in the family because of the “You-Know-What-That-Must-Not-Be-Named” (with matching Harry Potter music background). So you can see why I’m so passionate about this cause. You might be familiar with Yolly’s fundraiser which I’ve been actively campaigning for for quite some time now. I don’t normally like to ask people for things & favors. But this is one time, and one cause, that I’d gladly work for & devote my time to.
To those who have been following mommy Yolly’s plight with Breast Cancer (CLICK HERE & HERE), I’m very happy to announce that she already had her last chemo treatment & is now on the way to recovery. And that is many thanks to her silent & not so silent warriors who fought the good fight with her.

I know you’re looking for a chica post today since we haven’t chatted for quite some time. But let me just get this out of the way before I go back to our regular programming. 🙂 Please allow me to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have in one way or another, by prayers & donations -in kind or in cash (all appreciated by the way), helped the Low family. It’s not easy swallowing one’s pride to ask for help & financial assistance. But for our loved ones, lahat gagawin mapagamot lang ang minamahal natin sa buhay.

I would also like to thank my good friend, badminton coach WILLIAM “Tums” TAN GABUELO of WWGBA & his very supportive family, for devoting his precious time for 6 consecutive weeks so we can raise money to help in mommy Yolly’s treatment. He is such a busy guy, but all it took was one request from me. Anim na lingo agad ang katumbas. For that, I am eternally grateful. <3

I pray that God will bless us all with good health. Riches, you can earn. But health, no amount of money can compensate, or even come close to, once it deteriorates.
Last favor guys. 🙂 If you happen to be in the area, please patronize CORDON BLUES naman, co-owned by the very enterprising Kearsay Low. Sobrang maabilidad itong batang ito kaya naman two thumbs up at hangang-hanga ako sa kanya. Keep up the good work dear Kearsay. Tandaan mo, one day someday. Pasasaan ba’t dadating din yan! <3
