We really had no agenda, as in NONE at all. Kaya we felt so lost without the 2 older kids planning out our days & activities. 😛 Pakalat-kalat lang kaming 3, so Kap decided mag-outlet to kill time.
But before that, we had to take a mandatory RT-PCR, so we headed to the “nearest” center to get tested (nawala kami. Hindi pa sanay yung compass namin a.k.a. si Babylove mag-google maps. Kaya yung dapat na nearby at halos katabi lang ng hotel namin, naging malayo! Hahahahaha!). Kakapikon lang kasi we wasted our morning, yun pala paglapag na paglapag namin ng Maynila after our HK sojourn, inabolish na yung 3rd day mandatory testing rule. Kaloka! @_@
Anyway, as expected, we didn’t get to buy anything at the Citigate Outlets kasi 1.) The kids are not fond of US apparels & leather goods. Ang gusto nila European 2.) Ayaw nila ng mura, ang gusto nila yung mga nakaka-nosebleed at nakaka-alta presyon na presyo. Magaling, magaling! 😛
I really wanted to spend the day in Disney, but Mr. Cheapskate – the LOML (love of my life) didn’t want to waste our money. Yes, WASTE daw mag–Disney, huhu!
So we just had lunch at the Outlet Food Court. Diba? Nagpunta sa HK para lang kumain sa food court, ZOMG!!! Pero in fair, masarap naman & Michelin-starred yung chicken rice na inorder namin. HK is truly a foodie haven with Michelin rated eateries left & right, maliit na lugar man man o malaki.
The night previous, I requested for Pizza. Parang bigla akong nauya sa chinese food. My 2 companions were kind enough to oblige. <3 We actually had some form of entertainment at Paisano’s Pizzeria because a guest & an employee (both Indian) got into a huge fight & screamfest because of either a delay in order, or a mistake of delivered food item. We couldn’t figure it out because they were fighting & screaming in a sing-song voice. Kaya parang nanood tuloy kami ng musical! ;P #jokelang #nobashingplease
By the way, there’s a DON QUIJOTE in HK just along Nathan Road!! The stocks are not as fantastic, but pwede nang pagtyagaan if you are craving for Japanese items, unlike in Japan na 4-storeys yung tindahan at ang daming pagpipilian. Pero natuwa kami sa sweet potato at naguwi!
We were really so clueless as to what to do with ourselves the whole day after the outlets, so we decided to just hop on a Ferry with no destination & get off wherever the boat decided to take us. And whadya know? It led us straight to Godiva. 😉 YUM!
Come dinnertime, pumalag na si Kap my Kap. GOOSE na daw. GOOSE na GOOSE na talaga sya!! We randomly chose a cafe called MEI HIN, also along Nathan Road near our hotel, and lucked out coz the goose was oh so plump & fine!
The next day – our last, because like I said, we had nothing planned, we woke up leisurely & bade our time. I was craving beef so my kind companions once again indulged me, and we went to Beef Station Hot Pot, an all-you-can-eat hotpot station. We’d always pass it on the way home to our hotel & it always had a long line, so I got super curious & wanted to try it badly.
We wanted to try as many Michelin-rated eateries as we could while in HK, so after a little help from my friend Google, we headed to Mongkok for the famous dessert shop, Joyful Dessert House.
We were still so full from our lunch but there’s always room for dessert, right? 😉 Ok naman sya, masarap pero steds lang. I guess coz we’re also used to having good food in Manila, kaya parang nothing special lang itong dinayo namin. 😛
Walked a little around Mongkok just so we could digest before indulging in another round of goose & lechon macau at Furui Roasted Goose also near our hotel prior to our flight home. Ate & Babyson warned us that there were no restos open in the airport at night time & advised us to eat before taking the bus (even if we already felt like puking, hekhek).
Of course, we didn’t forget to buy some HK faves like the Jenny Bakery biscuits & nougats. And Maxim’s jelly rolls to take home. <3
4 days & a little over Php 200k spent in such a short span, lol. But the memories we made are priceless. I’d do it again in a heartbeat if it means the kids can enjoy & take a breather from their busy, hectic lives. They truly deserve it. <3
