My Kids Pets The GOppets

Meet Manche-GO!

We have a facebook page exclusively for our infamous village. It’s called “The Loop”. Lahat ng chismis na pwede mong masagap about the neighbors & the neighborhood, nanjan. 😛 Like this post.. pa-giveaway, hehe.

We already have 2 corgis, but this tri-colored one called out to my heart. As in hindi sya mawala sa isipan ko, try as I might.

I was very cautious kasi nga diba, it didn’t work out with Wagyu the Bulldog (whom we adopted after Lelly’s passing left a huge void in my bleeding heart) dahil yung resident alpha namin, ayaw pumayag na may ibang baby boy sa bahay! @_@

So long story short, I had to give up Wagyu & nakakahiya man, sinoli ko sa may-ari with tail between my legs kumbaga. Ang gwapo pa naman ni Wagyu sobra huhu, but we had to give him up in the name of peace!

I thought to myself, same breed this time around – corgi, baka naman magkasundo? Coz we have a neighbor na corgi din who is a constant playmate to our 2 furbabies. Friends naman silang 3. Mej.

So I put caution to the wind & messaged that I was interested, but only with the corgi. Then I put it to rest na, I didn’t even think I’d get chosen kasi nga the condition was for TWO dogs. Dapat together at magkasama, eh I only signed up for the corgi.

After a couple of days, I got a reply that I can pick up the corgi if I was still interested! Nagdalawang isip talaga ako kasi what if panibagong stress sa chest na naman ito? Pero nanaig talaga my desire to adopt the corgi over the worry & trepidation.

I told Meni we’ll “look” and “meet” lang muna if ok ang temperament nung aso. Kaso lo & behold, na love at first sight kami ni bunso. Waley – hook, line & sinker, we were in deeper than deep. Kinalabasan, inuwi na namin si corgi without looking back.

PS: Corgi’s name is Amber (he is 5 years old, not 3 as originally advertised). Di namin type ang pangalan, so Meni came up with the nickname “CHEGGY”, short for Manche-GO. Terno kay bbboi aka GO-tham, hehe.

Cheggy is a purebred Pembroke welsh Corgi. Many think that corgis only come in the red/white color combo, which is a misconception.

Rare Color = Sable

Purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgis come in 3 different colors: Red/Tan & White (most common) , Sable & White, and the Red-Headed Tricolor (cheggy)/Black-Headed Tricolor. The rarest Pembroke coat color is sable, which is a mix of black, red, and brown. Any other color, such as Merle are not naturally occurring in the breed, and are not considered purebred.

For the first few days, hindi nya kami pinapansin when we call out to him as Cheggy. Understandable. ;))

As half-expected, our bbboi didn’t welcome him with open arms. As in frothing in the mouth mad. Lagot!

But like I said, Meni & I were already head over heels in love with Cheggy, so we committed to overcoming hate with love. Somehow. Somewhat. God help us!

Fast forward to today, 2 weeks into the relationship. Hate-hate pa din huhu. We’ve tried everything pero every single day, bakbakan sila. As in kagatan talaga. Not just the bark-bark fight ha. They really get physical to the point na duguan! @_@

I thought of throwing in the towel at i-return to sender na si Cheggy because I really feel this is never ever going well – ever. But Meni is standing her ground & keeping firm. Ayaw pumayag! Hindi daw pwede.

So in the meantime, we are keeping them apart with barriers until the time comes that they will come to accept & tolerate each other.

We are holding on to this promise.. that in time it WILL get better.

333 Rule of Adopting A Dog

Expect it will take time for your newly adopted dog to get used to the new routines and adapt to their new home. The ‘Rule of Three’ means that you can gauge the time it might take for your dog to fully acclimate to his home in threes: three days, three weeks, and three months.

Any suggestions guys? At this point, I’ll try ANYTHING & EVERYTHING just to have some peace again in my home. </3

Poor twinks, my goodest girl! <3

Lord help us. @_@
