When our friendship with the Super Friends formed over 7 years ago, these gals were only in high school!

Girl power is about loving yourself and having confidence and strength from within, so even if you’re not wearing a sexy outfit, you feel STRONG & sexy. Ready to conquer the world. These are certainly strong, independent girls who not only possess beauty, but also brains & a heart. <3

Now, the 2 are in mid med proper & our dear Jasmin is about to become a MOTHER! I can’t quite wrap my head around being a pseudo Lola yet. Parang ang bata ko pa, hahaha.

Jasmin has quite a number of accomplishments tucked under her belt. She graduated from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde with a SHRIM (School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management) degree.

She was sent to different countries (India & Italy) for its special international programs & this lady has gained a shitload of experience from her many & varied stints here & abroad.

For short, at 22, Jasmin has the world eating out of the palm of her hands. Kaya niyang abutin ang langit.

Jasmin is a natural go-getter. Apart from finishing a 4-year degree in college, she also took short courses in makeup & has actually been servicing family and friends for the past years.

She also competed in India and trained under world-renowned chefs both in Italy & the United States. With such supportive parents, she has travelled far & wide, and can still do so any time she wants.

But alas, fate had other things planned for her. She is now a soon-to-be Mommy to a little girl, Kalea.

When Ate first broke the news to me, I gotta admit, the first thing that came to my mind was.. WHAAAAAT? Huhu sayaaaang naman si Jasmiiiin. You can’t really blame the “Tita of Manila” in me. Nanghinayang talaga ako for the endless possibilities. I felt that she was so young pa to be tied down.

It’s different when you’re single (young, wild & free) as opposed to having a family to consider when making ALL the choices from here on out. But then again, what’s to say that Jasmin can’t achieve her goals & dreams in spite of? Love & career, pwede naman sigurong pagsabayin. And who’s to say that young love doesn’t last forever? Just look at me & Kap -walking, talking proof that there is a happy ever after in spite of the years if you really want it. 😉

Starting a family with her high school sweetheart. 7 years and counting. Halos sabay lang the start of their relationship and our family friendship.

Nung mahimasmasan ako ng konti, I took a second look at Jasmin & what I saw was a SMART girl in love. One who can balance life & face challenges head on. Bakit ba ako nagduda? This girl is on fire -nothing & no one can stop her from conquering the world if she wants it badly.

But for now, everything is on pause as she faces her responsibilities as a mom & partner to her long-time love who of course, must prove himself worthy of her & their daughter.

And so, I set out on supporting her as if she were my own. (Pero Lord, huwag po naman muna sana yun mga anak ko huhu. Matagal-tagal pa ho sana please, hindi pa ako ready making lowlaaaa!) 😛 Together with the Super friends, we arranged a surprise baby shower for her! \m/

A newborn baby girl is like a rainbow of color, she brings with her the joy that only the colors of the rainbow bring. May your little angel be a rainbow that lights up your universe. Just like you once lit up you parents world. <3

“Cousins” are friends that will love you forever. Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the cousins together.

It’s been a long while since we all gathered together. Brought back a lot of memories. 😉

As usual, food by Neil’s Kitchen. Korean dishes this time. Gimbap, Marinated Chicken, Beef Bulgogi, and Chap Chae.

I just have to say, I won the Best in Diaper award. ;)) Hindi lang nila alam, Kap & I play that privately kaya expert na ako, lol. JOKE!!!

Family isn’t defined only by the last name or blood. It is defined by commitment & love. It means showing up when they need it most & having each other’s back. It means choosing to love each other even on those days when you STRUGGLE to even LIKE each other. It means never giving up on one another come what may. #BUDAGOMI
