One thing I learned from our first day, pag pagod ka pala, kahit anong asim at tigas ng unan mo in spite of a million-and-one layering of towels & sprays of cologne, hihilik ka pa rin sa tulog mula sa pagod. After a hot shower while sitting down on the closed trono..
Kap to me: O kita mo na sweetheart, may pakinabang naman pala yung trono sayo? Nakaupo ka maligo?
Me to kap: Kasi naman honey, pag nakatayo akong maligo baka magkapalit na kami ng pader ng mukha sa lapit!
.. I fell on the bed & snored away. Pag-gising ko, umaga na. Time for another day of misadventures. ;P

What we had to deal with at the hell hole: a cramped elevator, fighting for space with construction supplies & materials. Ya see what I mean??? Ang galing mo talaga Kap, let’s all clap for him please! 😛
In fairness, 20 steps away is our ride. And my knight in shining armor carries my big, empty shopping bag, ready for my purchases, lol!
—
Because Kap wanted cheap eats all the way, puro fast food ang nasa agenda. In all honesty, I’m ok with fast food. If only it were not a battle getting tables & seats EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Breakfast was a battle (150 hkd –masaya si Kap). Lunch was a battle (350 hkd – bumawi ako mwahaha). I shouldn’t have expected dinner to be any easier, and I was right. Dinner was a battle -an uphill climb (450 hkd). At dahil maliit lang ang kainan, you guessed it, wala ding maupuan! @_@
—
Breakfast
Breakfast was eaten at Cafe de Coral right around the river bend..
Because we are 5 in a group, it’s always a battle getting seats together. What we do is we split up -then just meet up afterwards. Sadness! </3 #FaMEALy

Shopping
—
We went to HK specifically for the kids to shop. That was their birthday pressie. Their Dad & I gave them shopping money, they can buy anything they want, no questions asked (especially from their dad, lol!) So they were on a serious mission.
Clothes & shoes were on top of their agenda.
I was about to budge when Ate announced she was buying this product, but I remembered the deal -wild card. It’s just that she has such beautiful skin, I was afraid that it may do more harm than good. Hopefully I’m wrong. Clarisonic (Smart Profile US$265) is a line of sonic face, foot and skin cleansing & exfoliating brushe & skin care products aimed to help get clear, healthy skin.
She also got a Gentle Monster sunnies in gold (US$285). Gentle Monster is a Korean designer brand that constantly develops itself under a philosophy of “high-end experimentation.” ;))
Meanwhile, my Babyson went on the hunt for shoes, shoes, and more shoes! Umapaw ang maleta nya ng sapatos.
Kung saan-saang sulok sya pumapasok at kumakain in school so this is better suited for him as opposed to his other pricier watches. Seiko, angwallet narelong maswerte! 😛

Lunch
—
Lunch at the K11 Art Concept Mall food court. Like I said, it was not a food trip. The kids spent their money on material possessions rather than on food hehe.
I love trips because Kap gets to spend a lot of time & interact with the kids. Back home, may kanya-kanyang buhay kasi. I wish we could take more out-of-the-country trips as a family next year.
—
Our 2nd day in HK was Halloween kaya may kaganapang ganyan. Jestoni, huwag mong buhayin ang bangkay!
—
It was SUPER crowded, I feared we’d lose sight of each other -with no roaming! @_@
—
Dinner
—
Ate‘s med friend SANNY suggested Pololi so that’s where we headed for dinner. I’m telling you, it’s really ALL-DAY WALKING. Pati gabi walang patawad.
—
Went up the hill & through a very scary, very empty, very dark alley along Graham Street on hallow’s eve for this pretty lil thang! Spicy Poké Mix ~ 90hkd
Pololi is a modern concept takeaway shop in Central. The first dedicated POKE shop serving traditional Hawaiian dish. 35-39 Graham Street, Central, Hong Kong (852)27558099
It’s really good, and dare I say? Worth the climb???
—
One good thing from this trip is I saw the aggressive side of the kids hehe. Each of us would wait for tables to free up, lagi silang first honor sa pagkuha ng mesa. Even seats on the MTR. Good job kiddos!
—
—
Kap certainly keeps me grounded.
Our 2nd day was a lot better though (or maybe because I got over the initial shock of our dismal lodging) having spent it in AIR-CONDITIONED malls with clean restrooms as opposed to the “great outdoors” the previous day. And since they have broken me in already with the all-day walking, I was more mentally conditioned on another day of torture. ;P So were my screaming & moaning fats, lol!
—
Homaygas. Gabing-gabi na, nasa mall pa rin kami. #ShopPaMore
—
2 down, 3 to go. Kaya pa!
—
Aba lokong Kap! Matapos akong tipirin, may masamang binabalak pa??? Hello. Sinuswerte ka! ;))
Traveling really strengthens the bond of a family. Mula sa hintayan sa paggamit ng CR, sa early wake up calls, looking for a place to eat (or sit down man lang sa dami ng lakaran hehe) 🙂 Happy to see you all together Ms Jane 🙂
“pag pagod ka pala, kahit anong asim at tigas ng unan mo in spite of a million-and-one layering of towels & sprays of cologne, hihilik ka pa rin sa tulog mula sa pagod. After a hot shower while sitting down on the closed trono..”
Worth the climb. At ang kiddos pwede na sa survival of the fittest. 🙂
Sabi ko nga. Now ko lang na-realize na pag nagka-zombie apocalypse una akong makakain kasi hindi ko kaya ang all-day walking! What more running & climbing waaaa!
I’ve been a long-time lurker on your blog and I enjoy reading about you and your family so much. You see, my mom and dad returned to the Philippines to enjoy their retirement years and I was left behind in the US. I was raised and educated in the States, so it’d be hard for me to transition to life in the PI. Luckily they call me every week, so it helps me not miss them too much; but when I feel blue or need a parenting mid-week ‘booster,’ I read your blog to keep the homesick virus at bay. ^_^
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I use Clarisonic and think it’s an excellent product (and before I forget, no I don’t work for them…this is entirely my personal opinion and experience). They have a variety of brush heads for different skin types and honestly, all of them are extremely soft. So don’t worry about it being too rough on Ate’s skin. In addition, depending on the device she gets, she can customize the duration and intensity of the cleansing routine. As always with skin regiments or diets, start slow then pick it up when you get comfortable. As far as cleansing is concerned, I feel that I get a gentler but deeper clean with the Clarisonic than what I would get with manual washing. It’s the best contradiction you can get! And yes, It’s an investment, but it’s worth it. Also, if Ate doesn’t mind sharing the main device, everyone of you can use it as long as each one of you has your own brush head. Personally, I change brush heads depending on where I am in my cycle. There are certain phases when I’m more dry and other phases when I get oily and break out. All I have to do is switch between the delicate brush and the pore brush.
Gosh, I just read this back to myself and I sound like an infomercial. -_- Sorry for gushing about it! Well, thank you for writing, thank you for letting your readers be a part of your family (even if it’s just in the cyber universe), and may God bless you!
Wow thank you so so much, Aretsuya, for your reassurance. I was really worried but now that you’ve explained it, I’m a little less nervous. And thank you for telling me about the product thoroughly, I really appreciate the time you spent I know lofe in the US is pretty hectic. And awwww, thank you so much too for your kind words. My heart swells every time a reader tells me how reading my blog takes them closer to home. I hope to meet you someday! :-*
It’d be an honor and pleasure to meet you, Ms. Jane! But as always, His will be done and hopefully God will bless us with the chance to meet someday. I’m glad that I was able to ease some of your fears concerning the Clarisonic. I’m not a mother but I completely understand a mother’s unwavering love for her child. Like your relationship with the J-team (or the Goppets as you put it), my mom raised me so lovingly and diligently that I can only hope to replicate a fraction of that immense love. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your Hong Kong adventure and may you all get home happy and healthy! ^_^
Haha! I cant wait for Day 3!

November 10, 2015 at 9:35 amHmp. Selective knowledge sya. Selective! 😛
November 10, 2015 at 10:12 amAt may isang tanong pa ako: What did you buy at the kinky store? SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!!! Bwahahahaha!

November 11, 2015 at 6:52 pmFamily trips are really the best for bonding experiences. My most precious family memories of the distant and more recent past are from family trips.
Kudos to you for “roughing it” in HK with the lakad-lakad and the skurryyy banyo.
Just curious: Lovey hasn’t shopped… she didn’t get anything on the first two days? 🙂
