Our last morning was spent frantically packing & weighing our bags. Kap brought out the 3 collapsible bags he’d been hiding in his carry-on (he knows us so well!) and my, they were filled to the brim. Overcapacity! Hindi naman halatang we over-shopped hehe. Wala nang christmas gifts, kiddos! ๐
—
Kap had to load/unload/weigh/transfer/take-out/put-back-in/start-all-over-again. ๐
It didn’t help that the gals’ newly-acquainted furry monster friends decided to come home along! ๐ Meet Lucy-FUR (L) & Jenny-FUR (R)! ๐
Our last day in HK turned out to be cool, breezy, and simply beautiful. Makes leaving so much harder (not the flat though -the flat I’d leave in a heartbeat).
—
My sentiments, exactly. <3
—
Even walking long & hard, up & down the streets to look for a yummy goose place that Ate wanted to try didn’t put (too much) damper on my mood & spirit.
—
Yat Lokย Barbecue Restaurantย is a small place in a nondescript location but with a big name, and an even bigger following. Just look at the queue! We had a 30-45 minute wait before securing a table. The wife of the chef was the official barker & would come out periodically to announce vacancy.
G/F 34-38 Stanley St. Central, Hong Kong Telephone No. (852) 2524-3882
Total spend: 500 hkd. I would have been willing to shell out (and order) more if not for Kap. Huhuhu.
Crispy, FAT-FREE skin! Holy goose! <3 Too bad Kap didn’t allow us to order 1 whole (500 hkd), sobra daw kasing mahal. Really? After walking, queuing, and waiting that long, that’s what you have to say? I don’t understand Kap sometimes most of the time.
Elbow-to-elbow, butt-to-butt seating situation. But the goose was worth every ounce of trouble, I promise. No comparison to the quacks we’ve been eating the past few days.
—
Hong Kong is a (brisk na) walking (pa) place, definitely not my type of country. But if walking means discovering places such as this while getting lost, then I’m one happy pig! <3
—
Emack & Bolio’s just started its operations here just a couple of weeks ago so we were very very lucky to have chanced upon it.
Even the locals had fun self-we-ing! ;))
The fun is in the cone. How brilliant! <3
Ito na nga ba ang sinasabi ko. Yung natipid namin sa goose, binawi namin sa ice cream hahaha! Walang lusot si Kap! Kamot-ulo nalang sya. ๐
Emack & Bolio’s truly is Ice Cream that ROCKS! \m/ Cute door to the loo upstairs.

Because we almost didn’t make it to the flight out to HK, we made sure to put ample time in our departure. Sa laki ng HK airport, 3 hours still wasn’t enough as Kap had to once againย load/unload/weigh/transfer/take-out/put-back-in/start-all-over-again some of our luggages just so he wouldn’t have to pay the penalty. KAPITAN KUNAT TO THE MAX! ;))
—
All treasures safely tucked, packed, and accounted for.
Huwaaat? Overload pa rin???
—
After finally getting our luggages weighed, scaled, and checked in with NO EXTRA PENALTY (whew nakahinga rin si Kap ng maluwag), we all sighed with relief & park our butts at Popeye’s for a quick dinner before we finally bid HK adieu. Why am I not surprised anymore to find another long line?

Popeyes Chicken & Biscuitsย serving a selection of delicious New Orleans-style chicken in a Cajun sauce and a variety of snacks. Departures East Hall, Level 7
And of we go!

Thank you Atefor arranging everything. If it weren’t for you we would have been at a loss. Your aMAZEing skills at getting us around & organizing our trip & itinerary is much, much appreciated.

Despite the discomforts & the uber sore feet from too much walking dahilย bawalย ngang mag-taxi, thank you Kap my Kap for taking care of us, as always. Lagi lang ako may reklamo, but I really, truly appreciate you. ๐

Para syang motolite, ang bateryang maaasahan. He’s the go-getter whenever one of us leaves something behind. The waterboy – ang tyaga nya magbuhat ng galon-galong tubig just so we don’t get thirsty or dehydrated. He’s our kargador – we shopped ’til we dropped & he patiently carried all our purchases. Last man standing – he’d let all of us take a shower first & use the toilet to our satisfaction. After we’ve all settled in that’s the time he goes. Impake’r – man he sure knows how to pack. Pati pag-kilo alam nya. In spite of all my achuchu, Kap is truly my superhero.

Thank you Hong Kong, ’til we meet again! :-*

Kap promised us a big trip in July when all the kids are free from school. Now pa lang mag-practice na akong mag-walking! Kaso travel-light daw. Naku, patay tayo jan!
And that concludes ourย #GONGKONG2015 ย ๐ Thank you for taking the trip with us! :-*
It was such fun reading all your meals and escapades for five days. May withdrawal symptoms na ako agad, waaaahhhhh… Punta agad kayo sa ibang bansa, Jane! Para may isulat ka ulit, hehehe…
Magrerequest pa naman sana ako ng “behind the scenes” blog post like what are the measures you took to avoid the “lag lag bala issue” but I saw your maleytas and bullet proof este anti-laglag na pala ang mga ito.
My bunso is like you, ayaw ng mainit, ayaw maglakad, ayaw ng crowded places! Kapag ganyan na ang scenario, he’ll say, “Mom, can I go back to the hotel?”
I extremely enjoyed your HK adventure. Feeling ko kasama ako. Galing mo kasi magkuwento. Totoong-totoo. Can’t wait for your next trip!
Hi Ms. Jane! Been following your blog for quite some time now. Part of my morning ritual already. Just wanted to know if you experienced being taxed by Customs upon arrival, with your branded purchases from abroad? Curious lang po. Thank you!

Really glad you didn’t pay for excess baggage and hindi po kayo na-tax.
Go, Go, Goppets! ๐

Ms Jane, ask ko lang po if walang nawalang anything don sa collapsible bags nyo kasi dba you checked those in? Kasi we booked flights na carry on lang papunta tas pabalik nag prepaid baggage kami tas magdadala rin kami ng collapsible bags. Will it be ok? thank you in advance, ms Jane!
Hi Dianne. But to be sure put the expensive items in your carry on luggage. Happy trip & safe travels! :-*
