Kids grow up & their taste changes. Kap told me this when I was decorating the rooms for our young children -babies then, really. But I didn’t want plain boring white walls. Or furniture that would stand the test of time. I wanted color, fun, and definitely something age-appropriate. So we had themes for each of them. True enough, they grew up. And they have outgrown their rooms & the furnitures in it. The kids graduated from toddler bedrooms filled with little tikes playthings & furnitures to teenager’s bedrooms. And now, they’re truly all grown up & ready for a much plainer, simpler room.
Furnitures nowadays don’t really account for much, unlike the olden times. They’re not as sturdy & solid, or as pretty. My dad’s antiques have withstood time, so I asked my mom which ones she didn’t have any use for anymore in her storage room & the girls got 1 armchair each as heirloom from their grandparents.

But 48 years is 48 years. The armchairs look worn out and old. Hindi yan papatulan ng mga bagets. Plus they aren’t comfy to sit on anymore. So we needed to have them upholstered & refurbished. We went to Shell Canvas & the girls squealed in delight with all the fabrics & choices available. Naloka kakapili eh tig-1 lang naman sila ng upuan haha.

Ate is in her 20’s so her taste leans more on the elegant side. Plains & velvets. Posh for short. So she chose a lovely blue velvet cloth for her armchair. And a crumpled gold for the one in her room that she has grown tired of (eh Zebra print ba naman!). Now she has 2 beautiful new sosi lounge chairs!

Meanwhile, my Lovey is at an exciting phase in her life. Sweet 16! So she gravitated more towards pleather & a striking pop of color for the front & a plain black of similar material at the back. Hipster chic! 😉

I’m very happy with the way the armchairs turned out so I may also have some of our outdated furnitures get major overhauls. Tignan ko muna kung mapapayag ko si Kap. Baka ako katayin sa laki ng gastos! We are moving soon (super exciting times ahead!) and a change of style & palette will make for a most welcome variation.
I’m thinking THIS for moi. You likey? Well I DO. Mucho, MUCHO likey! <3

This is especially true for you, Ms. Mother Extraordinaire… Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say that you’re in my thoughts. I’m so glad to hear that your mommy is getting better by the moment. Praise God! Also, belated Happy Birthday to Mr. Go-wapo! Congrats on raising a strong, loving, and independent son. As for Ms. Ate and Ms. Jena, enjoy your gorgeous chairs!
