Chevrolet Trailblazer – Pet Day at Chevrolet Makati
In the GOppets household, you’d think I’m the star. I would like to think so too, but no. It’s not me, it’s not Kap, it’s not the kids. So who could it be? Why it’s our dear Lelly of course! 😉
Her name is Jela, we call her Lelly. And you may call her.. your royal highness. 😛 She is such a pampered pooch. She sleeps on our bed, eats our food. Has her own yaya, and practically goes anywhere & everywhere with us (as long as she’s permitted!).
—
She goes with us on road trips.. in boat rides.. in mall jaunts.. practically everywhere! Everyone dotes on her and she knows it. 😐
—
Lelly even gets her own invites! For Chevrolet Philippine‘s Pet Day, our dear Lelly was one of the guest of honors for the launch of the NEW Chevrolet Trailblazer. Aba sosyal si Lelly! Naturally, the GOppets were in a tizzy as to what she would wear.
Would she go as a princess with her tiara? Or as a ballerina with her tutu. No, she will go as THE mascot! We went in search for the perfect outfit & just as we were about to give up, we FOUND it! The perfect outfit. And I’m sure that you’ll agree..

Ate found a Manchester football shirt in Nike with the Chevrolet logo. We had it altered a bit for a great fit. Whadya say? For the win, right! \m/ My Lovey naman got her a spanking new red collar & leash to match the shirt. Lelly is SO spoiled! <3

Chevrolet Makati (Pasong Tamo)
Chevrolet Makati, 2282 Chino Roces Avenue, Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati (02) 817-1888
Her daddy took her around to acclimatize her to the new surroundings. Lelly was an instant hit with the Chevrolet Makati sales team. Everyone wanted a picture taken with her. Of course, I was a very proud mommy!
Syempre the parents had to have one too! 😉
We were very appreciative of Lelly. She was so behaved & patient even with the numerous times we had to flip her shirt back & forth for her front & back photo ops! <3 (The logo is printed on just one side)

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size sport utility vehicle that has been produced by Chevrolet in North America in 2000 until 2008. It has since been re-developed to cater to Southeast Asian and South American markets beginning in 2012.
Chevrolet Philippines launched its NEW Trailblazer variants earlier this year, refreshed with upgraded design elements and technological amenities. The midsize SUV’s new variants retain the vehicle line’s best-in-class 200 horsepower, 500 Newton-meters of torque engine, seven-seat spaciousness and multi-functionality with the addition of improved infotainment systems, enhanced soundproofing and a more luxurious interior. AND best of all, pet friendly!
New Trailblazer refreshed with new technical and aesthetic features
In terms of overall space, the Chevrolet Trailblazer continues to offer a longer wheelbase than its competitors. It also continues to offer more interior space, while its intuitive three-row tumble and fold-flat seating adds convenience and flexibility. Trailblazer’s theatre-style seating allows second- and third-row occupants a better all-round view.

The new CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. So gwapo! So macho! <3 On the exterior, the new Chevrolet Trailblazer’s muscular exterior lines get a new color called “Satin Steel Gray.” On the back, LED tail lamps are now standard on the LTZ and LTZ1 variant for better visibility to other motorists particularly in low visibility conditions. Chevrolet Trailblazer’s rear hatch is now equipped with a rear view camera that activates when reverse gear is engaged. The area behind the vehicle is shown on the on-board touch-screen color display with dynamic guidelines that show the vehicle’s potential coverage area. The projected coverage area changes its orientation according to steering inputs.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer seats are now available finished in new premium-grade leather in luscious “Brown Stone” color, complemented by glossy “Piano Black” trim on the dashboard, center console and steering wheel. Occupants will also find the interior quieter, thanks to additional sound insulation in the bulkhead, further isolating the engine and passenger compartments. The driver’s seat features electrical six-way adjustment, while all passengers stay cool with Chevrolet Trailblazer’s powerful air-conditioning system, available even to third-row passengers. Driver information includes an Eco Index display that provides real-time feedback about fuel efficiency and a statistic page showing average fuel consumption of the last 50 kilometers. Based on throttle inputs, a leaf is shown when the driver drives economically.
Chevrolet’s award-winning MyLink infotainment system is available in all trims for Trailblazer. The top-of-the-range Trailblazer LTZ1 is equipped with six speakers, a touch-screen and built-in satellite navigation. The system can display album art, videos, pictures and DVD playback. The LTZ variant will have a BYOM radio featuring smartphone connectivity, pictures, videos and streaming audio. Once connected, options such as Audio, Pictures and Movies, Telephone, Smartphone Link and Settings are projected onto the Trailblazer’s touch screen. Users can access personal playlists and make hands-free voice calls, amongst other functions.
For the new Trailblazer, Chevrolet, the “Go Beyond The Ordinary” campaign highlights Trailblazer’s performance and product efficacy that has the power to do it all, enabling owners to explore new territories. So this is the perfect vehicle for Kap & the GOppets (including our dear Lelly of course) for many out-of-town trips! Our dear Lelly checks it out!
and it has passed her rigid inspection, LOL! In terms of safety, the ChevroletTrailblazer features new pre-tensioners for lap-belts and two airbags in front, in addition to other features including Traction Control System (TCS), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) and Panic Brake Assist (PBA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
The new Chevrolet Trailblazer rides on four coil springs and a 5 links rear suspension system – a setup found only in more upmarket, premium PPV. This setup helps eliminate the bouncy and choppy ride character typical of conventional body-on-frame PPV and provides best-in-class ride and crisp handling. A coil spring setup also provides greater suspension articulation in off-road conditions and makes it more comfortable on bumpy roads. The Trailblazer is the first PPV in its segment to offer disc brakes on all four wheels. So Kap & I are assured that the GOppets will be safe.

Caring doesn’t stop there. Chevrolet not only has the humans in mind, but pets as well. Thus, the Chevrolet Pet Day.
—
—
The focus of the event is to provide an awareness & understanding of what happens to a dog that’s not tethered down in a moving vehicle. We’re all very focused on keeping our kids safe, our passengers and ourselves – all the humans are well cared for but then we let our pets into the car & let them jump on our laps & hang his head out the window. We get distracted in the process, which leads to many accidents today.

To give some tips on basic training & how to keep our pets safe is BETTERDOGS CANINE BEHAVIOR CENTER founder , Jojo Isorena (right). CLICK HERE to visit the BetterDog Facebook page. Hosting the show is 99.5 PlayFM DJ Justin Quinto (middle). With Kap & I are Atty. Albert Arcilla, President & Managing Director of Chevrolet Philippines, and Lyn Buena, SVP for marketing.
In the audience are MOTORING TODAY peeps listening attentively.
Jela also listens attentively.. but gets distracted midway by her dad who decides to play with a toy car. DADDY! @_@

Tips on how to make your vehicle pet-friendly..
—
There are two basic recommendations for pet owners to keep their dogs safe in vehicles. First, and most important, is that dogs should always be properly restrained in the back seat of a car or the far back seat of a vehicle. Never allow your dog to be in the front seat.
As for restraints, use an authorized harness. If you don’t have a harness, at least attach the dog’s leash and/or collar to the seat belt to keep the dog secure.
* All Chevrolet vehicles have a LATCH: Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children to keep passengers (even pets) safe & secure.
Second, minimize distractions so that no one’s safety is compromised, not the driver, any passengers, or your dog. This means being mindful not to have any food in the car that could cause your pet to dig around in the back seat, possibly looking for that hidden Cheerio between the cushions, or kids or other passengers frolicking with the pooch while the car is moving.
Also, don’t allow your dog to hang his or her head out the window. While it may be something doggies love to do, it’s not safe. In an accident, serious injuries or death could occur, but there is also danger from rocks and other flying debris. There are special mesh screens that are available to fit over the window so that your dog can still smell the outdoor air while being prevented from putting his head out the window.
Finally, if you’re looking for a new vehicle that’s more pet-friendly, look for one that is wide, tall, and slightly square at the back which means plenty of cargo room and lots of cup holders to stow pet food and drink (and keep these items secure from your pooch’s reach). And the NEW Chevy Trailblazer answers all of these needs.

The new Chevrolet Trailblazer is available in four trims: 2.5L 2WD MT LT | 2.8L 2WD AT LT | 2.8L 2WD AT LTZ | 2.8L 4WD AT LTZ1. The Chevrolet Trailblazer also has lower running costs, as service intervals are pegged at every 15,000 kilometers, as opposed to the standard 10,000 kilometers of other models.

Thank you so much Atty. Albert Arcilla, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Philippines, and Chevrolet Makati for having us. Jela had so much fun making friends, while Kap & I learned a thing or 2 about dog safety. We will surely apply it in many future trips with the Queen of the house, and of our hearts. 😉

Thank you Chevrolet Philippines & Roex Pestano, General Sales Manager of Chevrolet Makati, for a fun & informative afternoon! <3
