After more than a year in the making & meticulous preparations, our dear Jena’s debut finally came to its pinnacle last October 21. All our hard work paid off, seeing her giddy & happy on her most special birthday celebration. It was a successful night with her intended guests accounted for. All 150 heads, yeheeey! \m/

18 things I want to tell you on your 18 birthday..
—
1.) Love yourself first. Over & above anyone, especially boys. No matter how much you think you love someone, don’t lose yourself.
2.) Some girls can be plain old mean. Chin up, don’t mind them & just keep walking. They don’t validate you or your worth.
3.) Not every problem is the end of the world. There is ALWAYS a solution to everything. Worrying won’t stop the bad from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good.
4.) Pick your battles, sometimes peace is better than being right. Also, pick the ones big enough to matter, and small enough to win. Many battles are merely distractions to keep you off course. Learn which ones to ignore.
5.) Don’t compare yourself to others, there will never be another like you. YOU ARE SPECIAL. Believe in yourself.
6.) Learn the word “NO,” and don’t be afraid to use it without guilt. Whatever you do, you can’t please everyone.
7.) You get to write your own story, fill the pages with happiness.
8.) Know your worth. Don’t ever chase a man, the right one will find you. YOU ARE NO ONE’S PROPERTY. Never settle, especially when it comes to love. You deserve the best.
9.) Be nice & gracious always, your actions reveal your character.
10.) Seek beauty in all things. Even at times you can’t seem to find any.
11.) Laughter is good for the soul. But cry when you need to and find strength in your tears. Then move on, never look back.
12.) Home is who you love, not where you live. I hope that someday you will also find the kind of love that will lead you to your HOME.
13.) Be happy in your own skin. You are beautiful, never let anyone make you feel inferior or differently.
14.) You can tell me anything, any time. I will always be here for you. I will always love you no matter what.
15.) Take life one day at a time. Live in the moment. You have no control over yesterday or tomorrow. All you have is RIGHT NOW, so just be happy.
16.) When in doubt, trust your gut instinct. ALWAYS.
17.) Don’t be afraid to fail. That’s how you learn. Also, there is no shame in asking for help when you do. Your family & friends are there for a reason.
18.) You won’t always get what you want. Life is not perfect.
My ever dearest Bae, you’re such a wonderful daughter, you’re very special too. And that’s why it’s so easy to be so proud of you.
You always make my life happier, just by being there. The things you do for me & others, show how much you care.
I wouldn’t be the same without you, for you’re such an important part of all the wonderful memories that are treasured within my heart.
I love you.
and I hope you had a very happy 18th birthday! :-*

Do you know that I loved you long before you were born? When I first held you in my arms, all my dreams came true. I remember staring at your perfect little features, and feeling happy at each sound & expression. A fierce need to protect came to me as I looked at you, and it has never gone away.
When you were a child, I was able to hold you close through illnesses & heartaches. I held your hand as you faced new experiences. My presence & my guidance seems to assure you of a certain level of safety, but little by little I had to let you go & allow you to make your own way.
Every so often I long to shield you & have you stay in the protective circle of my arms. I never ever want you to face any injury or heartache, yet I know that you have to in order to grow.
Now you are starting to make your own decisions, and all I can do is quietly support you. Just remember that no matter what, I will ALWAYS love you. There is nothing you can do that would make me stop loving you. You are the hugs & smiles from my past, and the hopes & dreams of my future.
Take care always my dearest daughter, and know that you are never alone. We are connected by the strongest bond there is -the love between a mother & child.

Sharing with you the director’s cut of #JENAsaisquoi <3 enjoy!
awwww…this is really a beautiful and I must say my favorite post! You all looked so regal! Grabe pang awards night! I’ve been waiting for this post! I love everything about Bae’s debut. 🙂
Thank you so much Eula! Tuwing pinapanood ko yung video lalo na yung toast ni Babyson, napupuwing ang mata ko at naluluha HAHAHA. Stage motheeerrr!!! 😛
I just feel the love all throughout the video. You really have a beautiful family, Ms. Jane. Your family is such an inspiration. And you can really see that everyone enjoyed the party. Love the dance numbers. 🙂 God bless you all!
Mommy Jane, what a heartwarming and reassuring toast from Jonah. If I am his (their) parent, i would be extremely proud that I have done a good job and i will not be afraid to leave this world because I know that my children have their each other’s back.
Huhu I know, I was teary-eyed talaga the whole program kasi feel na feel ko ang love & support nila for each other Candy. Sobrang lucky ako sa mga anak at asawa. <3
I rarely comment on the blogs that I read Miss Jane, but I already commented on two of your posts. I really love reading all of your family’s sweet adventures! I am particularly touched by this one, since I felt your love for all of your children. Sorry medyo emotional po ako, I just gave birth to my firstborn daughter last Oct. 23. Super inspired po ako on how you raised your kids, especially your daughters. I hope me and my Ali will have the same relationship that you share with Jana and Jena (sorry po first name basis..feeling close lang, lol!) Please keep on inspiring people like me. God bless po!
Woooow!! Congratulations dear Shayne for your new baby! I cannot even begin to tell you how she will change affect your life in so many wonderful ways. I am just so excited for you in your new adventure as a mother! <3 And she has the same birthday as my dear Neni, so she will FOR SURE grow up to be as delightful, if not more! And thank you so much for writing to me, and your words of affirmation. It is every blogger’s happiness to know that she has made an impact on a reader’s life. I wish nothing but the best for you & Ali! :-*
Thank you Miss Jane! You are actually my mommy peg. I am really praying to be a good mother just like you! 🙂 Kakilig lang that our daughters share the same birthday. I also hope that my Ali will be as compassionate and as kind as Jena when she grows up.
Love Love Love Jena’s Debut! And Jonah’s speech made me cry! Huhu. Mommygoals talaga kita! Kudos sa inyo ni Kap for raising them as kind, loving and down to earth kids! ❤❤❤
