It’s hard to get Kap a gift, and when you’ve been with someone for 30 years -with 4 major occasions that require gifting in between, well you can just say the tank is set on empty when it comes to ideas & surprises. So I was at my wit’s end a couple of days before hearts day, really. Stumped at what to get my Valentino.
But I refuse to let Valentines pass without giving the love of my life something special. Even in long marriages, or rather ESPECIALLY in long marriages, you need to keep the spark alive. The fire burning hot & bright. 😉
Kap has always asked me to watch with him the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition at the Seaside Boulevard in SM Mall of Asia, a yearly event that showcases a spectacle of lights and colors where the night sky and sea meet as staged by the world’s leading pyrotechnic experts. This is the 7th year of the fireworks exhibition, and I’ve been making up all sorts of excuses & declining his invitation for 6 years in a row now. Imagine that. Kawawang Kap, he’s so whipped haha.
So even though I am deathly afraid of loud noises, and even though the fumes would probably trigger an asthma attack (or so I thought), I decided to brave it out, in the name of love! 😛 Cupid would have been so proud!

With just a couple of minutes to spare before showtime, and both Kap & I out of breath (partly from excitement, but mainly from running lol), we arrived at the VIP area of the event. Valentine’s day traffic was intense, as expected. So I strongly suggest that you make room for allowance in your travel time AND parking, even for the succeeding pyromusical competitions -just to be on the safe side.
I have to commend the organizers for a very orderly line. Just go to the entrance of your respective ticket designation and you’ll be fine. And portalets are available at every area so no worries there. I just have to say, it was my first time to use one. Cheers to new experiences, weeeee-weeeeeeee! \m/

Surprise surprise, the noise wasn’t that scary -or loud! And there was actually to smog to trigger an asthma attack since all the fireworks came from the barge waaaay beyond the yonder. It was mostly just lights, lights, lights. What a beautiful & romantic night it turned out to be! <3 I believe I’m ready for more fireworks with the one who never fails to rock my world. Natanggal ang phobia!
Whad’ya say Kap, should we make up for the past 6 years that we didn’t go? 1 down, 5 to go. I say LET’s! See you guys at the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition! Take it from me, you don’t want to miss it. 😉

February 25, 2016 at 1:35 amHow was the food and what kind of dishes was on the buffet spread?
February 27, 2016 at 10:58 amTbh, the food was so-so lang, nothing spectacular as people are there for the fireworks. If you don’t wanna be hassled with long queues at the restos outside then the food there will do. But if you can wait til after to have dinner, better. 🙂
February 27, 2016 at 11:49 ami appreciate the tip. Thank you so much, you have a good one!
