One last full day before we go home tomorrow! :'( Bittersweet coz I really miss the kids & doggies. But then again, I still wanna have my just-kap-&-me moments. TORN!
What’s NOT to be missed though, is having to go back to Donki (pillow, skincare, and essentials) AND Osu (cute socks) for the bilins that were left behind dahil sa kakunatan ni Kap, hehe (refer to previous blog).
I was dreading having to go up & down the floors & aisles of Donki again looking for the things on the list, and having to fill up an entire cart & doing it all over na naman.
We hurriedly left our hotel as soon as daylight broke. Nagbakasakali kami ni Kap na they didn’t touch our filled-to-the-brim cart (we asked the staff if they can leave it as is at babalikan nalang namin agad with our passport the next day, they said only until the morning)
Reminder when in Japan: Always bring your passport around with you for tax-free purchases!
Buti nalang our items were still in the cart, so we hurriedly paid for our purchases & headed back to the hotel to leave the bulky maleta in our room before we set off again & re-start our day of misadventures. 😛
We tried the market across the hotel to see if there was anything open for a quick brunch before heading off to another tennis store that Kap found online. We saw a 24-hour hole in the wall sushi resto outskirt of the Yanagibashi Market which was a great find!
Then it was off to Tennis Station. Ewan ko ba ilang sapatos ang kailangan ni Kap, eh 2 lang naman ang paa nya! Mahirap sobra mamili sa Japan if you’re looking for something in particular & you don’t have a picture of the item you want, kasi it is SO HARD to converse with the Japanese as most really don’t speak English. Buti nalang may google translate, so when hand gestures don’t suffice, it’s trusty old GT to the rescue!
There were these super cute socks that our Duktura liked that can only be found in ONE stall sa Osu. The first round, I only bought her 3 pairs kasi mapilit si Kap na she wouldn’t like them – although kasama talaga sa listahan nya ang “CUTE SOCKS”, so I don’t understand what wasn’t so clear about that. @_@ Apparently, when I showed her the pics, SHE DOES! So yeah, today was definitely a General Douglas MacArthur day (i-shall-return), lol. This time around, I got her 9 more pairs for her daily hospital duty. <3
As we were heading back to Osu for the socks, we stumbled upon this cutie Penguin Cafe (or PG Cafe) that OF COURSE I had to make usi. Most cafes & small eateries in Nagoya value their chairs, I kid you not. Our server insisted we had to get TWO drinks (one for every person seated) even though I already ordered a 3-decker pastry plate.
Heto na naman si Kap my Kap.“Swthrt sa labas nalang ako maghintay sayo para hindi na ako kailangan umorder ng inumin.” I gave him my coldest, scariest, deadliest stare. He quietly ordered the least expensive drink on the menu and stayed put. May konting takot din naman pala sya, HAHAHAHAHA! I’m telling you, he didn’t get his nickname for nothing! #stresssachest
With Kap’s backpack heavily-laden with treasures, we slowly made our way back again to our hotel, finally calling it a day. Iba talaga pag matanda na, mabilis mapagod.
Every night as we walked back home, Kap would see this steak place called Indian’s Steakhouse. Paulit-ulit nyang babanggitin sakin yan. “Swthrt o, 3 lbs steak mura lang, hati tayo mukhang masarap.” as he drooled over the picture displayed on the window. I would always decline, thinking it’s probably curry steak kasi nga “Indian’s Steakhouse” diba. I wanted something Japanese-y na beef.
But when we were turned down 2x on our last night due to over-capacity in the 2 yakiniku restos I liked, walang choice kundi si Indian’s Steakhouse. And I gotta say, NO REGRETS! Kap made the right call all along! \m/ Hindi naman pala sya curry hehe. (curry-pot lang! wahaha!)
Apparently, 3 lbs is A LOT! Kahit mga patay-gutom kami ni Kap, hindi namin maubos-ubos ang 3 lbs OMG. We asked the chef to just pack up the 3rd lb for take-out at gusto pa naming mabuhay ng matagal-tagal. 😛
With bellies super full, we forced ourselves to walk it off para bumaba yung pagkain namin kahit papaano at hindi kami bangungutin!
Kap had the brilliant idea of going to Mister Donut to buy our promised pon de ring pasalubong for the kids so we don’t have to rush the next day (we had a morning flight). PERFECT, I. thought. Dessert, teehee. (busog na busog pa ako yang lagay na yan ha)
Unfortunately, when we got there, paubos na yung may flavors. Only the plain Mochi donuts were available. So we just bought a box of 12 na plain & decided to try our luck the next morning. (The flavored pon de ring donuts come out at 10am pa daw, eh we had to leave our hotel by 10am to ride the train going to the airport for our flight back home.)
So instead of unloading which was our good intention, we re-loaded pa our already distended bellies with more food & trudgingly made our way wee-wee-wee all the way home! ;p
Midway, humirit sakin ni Kap my Kap.. “Ano swthrt punta muna tayo donki uli maglakad-lakad??” Again, I give him my coldest, scariest, deadliest stare. Meekly he retorts: “wag nalang pala, maaga pa tayo gigisng bukas para mag-empake.”
And that, my friends, is how we ended our last full day in Nagoya. 😉
