Taal Vista Hotel is the perfect getaway in more ways than one because I’ve been meaning to try out Taza Fresh Table, the hotel’s new & latest farm-to-table inspired restaurant showcasing the local produce, meats, and seafoods from the area & even from the hotel’s garden itself.
We maximized our anniversary staycation to the fullest & just really burrowed in & enjoyed the dining outlets of Taal Vista Hotel instead of going out to our usual & favorite Tagaytay jaunts for meals.

Taal Vista Hotel is really the age-old perfect haven in Tagaytay. The weather was cool & crisp, the view so delightful & romantic. Our first time here & yet we felt so at home in an instant with the warm reception of the staff. <3
If you want more exclusivity, try out Taza Fresh Table for ala carte dishes. Buffet is also available at the Cafe Veranda but we chose to have dinner here at the more quiet dining outlet.

Taaza is an Arabic word which means “fresh”. The menu is a mix of Mediterranean, Spanish, and Continental dishes, with the local ingredients as the highlight. Guests can expect garden-fresh herbs and vegetables, slow-cooked smoked meats, handmade pasta, and made-from-scratch sauces.
Mezze served with flat breads 700 php. Starter set choice of 4 items: Hummus, Chorizo with garlic, Spinach with bacon jam, and Sauteed chicken liver & garlic confit.
Watermelon Salad 295 php. Romaine, batavia, pancetta, kesong puti, cashew, chickpeas & calamansi dressing.
Kale & Bacon Pizza 400 php. Local mozzarella, organic kale, and homemade smoked bacon.
Beef Stroganoff 525 php. Mushrooms, onions, truffle oil, and pappardelle pasta.
Grilled Tumerc Chicken 550 php. Yogurt, fresh tumeric, ginger, cilantro, tzatziki, and coconut rice.
Roasted Market Fish 995 php. Lapu-lapu, olives, balsamic, roasted garlic, lemon, and olive oil.
Tomahawk porkchop 800 php. Caramelized onion & bananas, pork jus.

Dessert trio for sharing.. (L-R) Olive oil ice cream 215 php,Pinacolada Sorbet 120 php, and Napoleon 225 php.
And my ABSOLUTELY NO SHARING Molten Chocolate Cake 225 php. With alfonso tablea chocolate & Pato queso de bola ice cream. APHRODISIAC!! Humanda ka Kap! 😉

Before going up, we got sidetracked by a singing enchantress at the Lobby. Love was in the air, who were we to say no to Cupid’s handiwork. And so, we stayed a bit for a night of music & nostalgia..

Old love songs never fail to get us carried away. We almost lulled to sleep what with the food & music! It was Chill with a capital C.
Fully satiated, and winding down from a full day’s activity in our comfy room, I looked around for my bag. NAWAWALA! I panicked. Kap panicked even more. And just as any hero would do, he dashed down to the Lobby at lightning speed & went in search for my bag.. and its many many contents. My entire life, actually! @_@
Please allow me to commend JULIENNE (in yellow) & JESSILYN (in green) who acted quickly & gave my bag to security for safekeeping before anyone else could have gotten to it! <3 It was an hour since I had it last, so they were really quick at saving me from divorce! Lagot talaga ako kay Kap kung nagkataon. ;)) Taal Vista hotel, you just went up a million points in my book. THANK YOU so much Julienne & Jessilyn for being my guardian angels! And then there’s me, with a fugly tearful face hahaha! 😛

Hay naku Kap, my life is always an adventure & full of excitement with you! In fairness, he had my bag. He always does, he spoils me too much -which was why I wasn’t looking for it the whole time. But when we sat at the Lobby, I transferred my bag to the chair in front of us so I can sit beside him. Normally it sits behind him, or in between us. Ginalaw ko lang talaga coz I wanted him to be comfortable in his chair. We must’ve enjoyed our nightcap so much that we BOTH forgot about my relocated bag as we got up to leave. Kekendeng-kendeng at HHWW pa kaming paakyat, omg! Ako talaga ang may kasalanan, but of course, I would NEVER admit that to him hahaha! 😉
Anyway, thank you so much Taal Vista Hotel, Taza Fresh Table, and Cafe Veranda for our refreshing romantic getaway! <3 This is one time we will ALWAYS remember & treasure. One, because of the wonderful time we had. And two, because YOU SAVED ME FROM DOOM! ;))
